This is a benefit he is able to utilize with his VA benefits. My grandfather had a stroke and a brain anyerism. It's been very helpful for our family. This is the first time we have utilized this service. The lady that helps and comes twice a week, we get so excited to see her. She's so friendly. She does a great job with my grandpa and we really appreciate the compassion that she has. She's almost become like one of our family members. I can't express my gratitude and appreciation for what they do for our family. I would absolutely recommend them to everybody!"

"Hi! My name is Denise. My dad’s name is Paul and he is receiving services from the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health. They are so upbeat and positive, and they understand changing the wounds. The other services in town would watch me and that was really disheartening for me. It’s not like I can’t do the wound care, it’s just sometimes you need help.

Our home care aides come in three times per week and they have been wonderful. They are very positive and talkative with dad. I just know he’s really pleased with them and I’m pleased. I can depend on them for whatever.

Nursing care has been daily so far. Even on weekends, I was really surprised they will come in on the weekends, whereas the other place would not provide that. I would highly recommend the Department of Public Health home health care services. They are truly a lifeline for me. "

My name is Josh Baker. I’m a family doctor and I practice at West Fork Family Medicine in Rockwell. Our practice routinely utilizes the nursing services and home care services with the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health. I think the nurses specifically are highly skilled. I appreciate how they communicate regularly with me as a provider. Patients have verbalized to me how much they enjoy working with the Health Department, particularly with the individual nurses they have on staff. Like I said before, it’s really nice when I see the patient in the office and I tell the patient what is going on with them, as opposed to them telling me what’s going on because the nurses have already informed me on certain clinical scenarios that have arisen.
