Providing accurate, timely health information to members of the community is a priority for us at the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health.
Whether you need to know about childhood and adult immunizations, food safety, home health care, tobacco prevention, well water testing, restaurant inspections, senior health clinics or one of the 50 plus services we offer the community, we are happy to provide you information and help direct you to the services you need.
The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health asks that all members of the media respect our media policy and follow these simple guidelines:
If you would like to interview a member of the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health staff for a news story, please contact the department’s Marketing & Public Information Officer at 641-421-9333.
The Public Information Officer will discuss your story idea and interview request with you and help direct you to the appropriate source within the department, as long as our staff offers the qualified expertise you seek.
There are several reasons for this policy. One is to help our staff so they can prepare for media interviews. Another reason is so our Public Information Officer can help connect you with the appropriate source. We want to make sure we provide you with the person who is most qualified to answer your questions. Also, when staff members are out of the office, in meetings or on vacation, our Public Information Officer can help you get the information you need as quick as possible.
When Public Health sends a press release to the media, please use the contact information at the top of the release.
At Public Health, we enjoy working with the media in our on-going efforts to educate the public about so many important health issues. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Please share this information with reporters and editors in your newsroom as your staff changes.
